About the Job
This full-time, immediate-start position is perfect for a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Advisor who wants to take ownership of their work. Key responsibilities include:

Developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies, procedures, and programs
Investigating incidents and recommending corrective actions
Conducting risk assessments and analysing data
Overseeing emergency response plans and fire prevention activities
Ensuring compliance with NZ regulations and standards
Managing training needs analysis and internal training programs
Assisting in the onboarding process and maintaining safety records
You’ll play a key role in shaping a safety-first culture across the company, with the backing of a supportive team and leadership.

About You
You’re a confident communicator with at least two years of experience in a similar role and a strong understanding of New Zealand’s health and safety regulations. Ideally, you will hold a New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice (Level 4), have Unit Standard 4098, and experience developing and delivering training plans. A background in hazard identification and hazardous substances, along with experience in a port, marine engineering, or shipyard environment, is a bonus—but not essential.

✔ The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and pipe schematics
✔ A commitment to workplace safety and best practices
✔ Welding experience (desirable)
✔ A full driver’s license (forklift and EWP licenses are a plus)
