(Intermediate – Senior Operator) Freight Forwarding

Opportunity knocks for an experienced airfreight ops coordinator to learn and grow into a role of considerable responsibility coordinating international freight movements, both imports and exports to and from customers.

The role is busy and demanding of good time management moving freight efficiently and minimising delays. Meticulous attention to detail is essential to the roles performance involving scheduling, invoicing and shippers documentation such as SLI’s, VGM Certs, & EDI forms,  POD’S.

Organising transport two and from ports/airports selecting the most cost effective and reliable carriers or freight-forwarders. Reporting to and working closely with the Key Account Manager, the role has significant contact and interaction with other parties across the business. Good communication being key to the roles timely and accurate transfer of information across departments. 

Key Skills & Knowledge:

• Advances MS Office Excel Skills, PIVOT Tables & Macro’s
• An effective and efficient use of systems and pre-defined processes in managing customer service queries to ensure optimal cost and service outcomes to customers.
• A good grasp of the road transport industry in N.Z. carriers and customers would be preferable.
• Air & Sea (Import/Export) Operations – Freight/Forwarding
• Experience working with multi-faceted customers and suppliers
• Account Management Support along with new customer integration.
• Sound analytical skills
